Tigers open the season with a Prince and MVP Royalty

Detroit — Detroit Tigers Opened their 2012 season with a 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox. Fans welcomed Prince Fielder home and the Detroit is beaming with baseball fever.  The Opening ceremony included Al Kaline throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, celebrating his 60 years with the Detroit Tigers organization. 

2011 MVP and CY Young award winner Justin Verlander threw 8 innings with no hits. Austin Jackson made the game winning hit in the 10th inning.
