Cape Town, South Africa- Playing in a crowd of 62,869 at Green Point Stadium, Italy title's defense almost resulted in a loss against Paraguay in Group F's opening match. One thing viewers now understand about Paraguay is that they're a very good underrated defensive teams who's accustomed to competing against top-caliber National Teams because Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay all play in the same conference.
Day Two and Three: With two head to head matches between Team LA/USA and Team Europe, we're still tied up. On Friday, Uruguay and France played a hard fought match to a 0-0 draw. Saturday's historic match between the United States and England resulted in a 1-1 draw. Clint Dempsey hit the equalizer in the 40th minute and US Goalkeeper Tim Howard played spectacular defense for the tie. With this result, England has never defeated the United States in World Cup competition.
Day One: The World Cup kicked off in spectacular fashion! We witnessed two ties between South Africa/Mexico and Uruguay/France. Uruguay represented Latin America and reminded everyone why they're two-time World Cup Champions. Mexico on the other hand was fortunate that Rafael Marguez bailed "El Tri" with a game tying goal. Without a shadow of a doubt, South Africa demonstrated that they're capable of winning their Group and advancing to second the second.
South Bronx, NY – The 2010 World Cup will be broadcast free for Bronx soccer fans. The 161st Street BID announced its schedule at a press conference held Thursday in Lou Gehrig Plaza located at 16st Street and the Grand Concourse in the South Bronx. The giant screen will carry a signal courtesy of FIFA and ESPN.
“The BID will provide everyone a chance to see this historic event for FREE,”
said Dr. Cary Goodman, its executive director. “The first World Cup from Africa.”
The BID will also provide the first 200 fans with free folding chairs from which to watch.
The 161st Street BID is one of 64 business improvement districts across New York City under the direction of Commissioner Robert Walsh, Department of Small Business Services. Each BID has its own character and theme.

In February, the BID invited U.S. Olympian, Jeremy Abbott, to dedicate the Bronx’s first public ice rink.
